to attend 'Getting it across: Communicating your art practice',

This is grant is possible thanks to the support of participants of the course, "Comprar tus primeras obras de arte."

 

This opportunity will enable a Latin American artist based in the region  (30– 45 years old) to undertake the four-week programme 'Getting it across: Communicating your art practice' (approximately USD 965), starting on Monday, October 25, 2021. 
 
Over 4 weeks of online lectures, tutor-led discussions and exercises, the grant recipient will learn how to connect and communicate clearly in any situation in the art world. Artists looking to apply should have an interest in developing or growing an international career.

The programme's tutors are:
  • Gilda Williams (Art critic & book author, Artforum and Goldsmiths).
  • Aaron Cezar (Director, Delfina Foundation, 58th Venice Biennale, performance curator, and Turner Prize juror).
  • Alessio Antoniolli (Director, Gasworks and Triangle Network).
  • Georgina Adam (Journalist, The Artnewspaper and FT).
  • Francesca Bellini-Joseph (Tate Executive Committee, art patron and online educator).
Participants have access to an e-training platform, Zoom live sessions, a workbook, readings, and more. 
 
Eligibility:
 
This grant is open to Latin American artists based in the region. We actively encourage applications from visual artists, thinkers, and cultural practitioners of all backgrounds. 
 
30– 45 years old artists with an active career, recent group-solo exhibitions, and critical publications. 
 
You should typically have, or expect to gain, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Fine Arts or Visual Arts, another studio-based practice, or a related field. We welcome applications from those holding degrees in unrelated fields or without formal training who can demonstrate appropriate experience in the art world and/or the creative industries. 
 
You also need to have a good level of written and spoken English. You can live anywhere to take this programme.
