The Museum of Modern Art Bogota, MAMBO, celebrates the 3rd edition of the Gala Mambo, a philanthropic event to raise funds for the Museum's art, exhibitions and public programmes.

MAMBO Viajero (Travelling MAMBO)

 

 
The MAMBO Viajero is an itinerant museum that provides free art exhibitions and educational programmes to underserved communities in Colombia. 

 

It consists of a container parked in public areas of cities and villages. It exhibits a sample and reproductions of some of the most relevant works in the collection ⏤ up to 24 artworks across eight modular exhibition panels. In addition,  the Museum's educational team provide in-person guided visits and activities. 

Since 2012, the MAMBO Viajero has reached hundreds of thousands of people in Bogotá and departments such as Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Magdalena, and as far as La Guajira. It has also brought art to thousands of teachers and students from public schools who otherwise would hardly have access to these works.

Online Course - Five weeks - Flexible

Art Collecting Now

Art Collecting Now is a five-week online course for those wanting to embark on the exciting adventure of collecting art and getting involved in the art world.

 

The course is led by tutors with extensive experience buying art for themselves and on behalf of renowned institutions such as Tate, the National Portrait Gallery in London, and Cisneros Collection, among others. 

Through a practical methodology, the weekly modules will help you clarify doubts, make decisions and define your next steps in the world of collecting: how to buy, who is who, ways to get involved in art that you did not know about, and an enlightening look at art investment. 

You can explore the content at your own pace, participate in tutor-led group discussions, attend live sessions with international participants via Zoom and artists from the ACT! community, readings, a study notebook and much more.

Francesca Bellini-Joseph

Francesca is an art patron and collector of art. She is a member of the Tate Executive Committee, the Latin American Acquisition Committee, and a patron of Delfina Foundation, Gasworks, Flora Ars+Natura, and MAMBO. She is also a Founding Chair of the International Council of the Fondation Maeght in France. An online education specialist, she is a senior leading course at Sotheby's Institute Global Online and the founder of ACT!

Flavia curated 'Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs' ⏤ the best-attended exhibition in Tate's history⏤ , and the 'World Goes Pop', among others. She is the author of Pop Art and Women Artists both in Thames & Hudson's art essentials series. She is the National Portrait Gallery's Chanel Curator, a role responsible for enhancing the representation of female artists and female sitters in the Gallery’s Collection.

Gabriel Perez-Barreiro

Gabriel served as director of the Cisneros Collection in New York one of the largest private collections of Latin American art⏤, for ten years and is currently Senior Advisor. He also curated the 33rd Sao Paulo Biennial and the Brazilian pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale⏤the art world's most important institutional event. 

Leslie Ramos

Leslie is the Head of the International Council of La Fondation Maeght in the South of France. She was Senior Patron Manager at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and before that at the Teatro La Fenice and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Leslie sits on the Strategic Advisory Board at Delfina Foundation and the Development Committee at Artangel. She frequently writes about art patronage and philanthropy for the Art Newspaper and Apollo.
